the fact of the matter is, i went through a phase where my thoughts were tantamount to mush. and my path was entrenched by a deep fog built upon unreal expectations of myself. therefore, i apologize for you being jilted. i had no intention of hurting you. rather, i just wanted to save myself from what i was leading myself into. and now i am ‘home’. i pray you find that person who is ‘home’ to you too.

my feet tread slowly across the pavement
as i recall what purpose i walked out for.
the moonlight shines on the tip of my watch
